Informal Africa-Europe Climate Convening focused on Adaptation Action and Finance – UNFCCC 60th SBs
Organised in partnership with the African Union Commission (AUC) and the Pan-African Climate Justice Alliance (PAJCA)
This in-person working meeting will take place in the context of the Bonn Climate Change Conference (3-13 June 2024), to take stock of the 60th SBs and ahead of COP29.
Recognising the urgent need to make progress in the climate space ahead of COP29, and building on the latest developments in relation to the 60th SBs, the Africa-Europe Foundation (AEF), together with the African Union Commission and the Pan-African Climate Justice Alliance (PAJCA) aim to facilitate a series of multi-stakeholder and cross-continental dialogues that can drive fresh thinking for international policymaking to reframe and reinforce the Africa-Europe partnership on the global stage, starting with adaptation action and finance.
With this inaugural informal Africa-Europe climate convening, the Africa-Europe Foundation aims to create a space for European and African climate policymakers, technocrats and associated actors to identify ways to establish common ground and build stronger bridges between Europe and Africa on the climate front.
This meeting will take the shape of an informal roundtable discussion convening a selected group of EU and African climate experts, addressing critical adaptation-related issues that must be resolved.
This meeting is by invitation only.
